Tessa holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Amsterdam. She is provisionally registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).
Tessa has over five years of experience working in mental health care across hospital, community, youth service, not-for-profit, and school-based settings. She has supported children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a broad range of cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and mental health concerns, and has experience working collaboratively with families, schools, and other support networks to create positive changes.
Tessa takes a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach to therapy. She values authenticity and believes that meaningful change begins with a genuine therapeutic relationship. Tessa strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood, respected, and comfortable being themselves.
Drawing on evidence-based practice, Tessa incorporates psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) principles into her work. She also has experience using psychometric assessment tools to support understanding, treatment planning, and goal setting. Tessa enjoys working alongside clients to identify their strengths, develop practical skills, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
